Wild Stallion Rescues Filly From Drowning
Over a million people viewed this short video clip as a Salt River stallion saved a filly from drowning. However, the US Forest Service recently announced its plans to roundup all of these amazing wild horses and remove them from the Arizona lands.
Even though the Forest Service itself admits that the horses have been present in what is now the Tonto National Forest for decades before Congress passed the Wild Free Roaming Horses and Burros Act. The government now calls them “stray livestock”.
There are many ways the community can make a difference! These horses deserve to keep their homelands. You can call and send an email to the US Forest Service or Sign the petition calling on the forest service to protect the Salt River Horses.
